Users
How many users can we register at the Controller?
We can register unlimited users at the Controller.
Can we have users login by registering themselves and receive the password by SMS?
Yes, we have a “self-login” facility for users to register themselves on the network.
Can we capture the user’s photo ID at the time of registration
Yes, this is possible in the “user creation” interface of the Controller.
Can we have users login to the WLAN without seeing the login page?
Yes, we can disable the portal page login and have a “MAC ID based” login for users. The user will automatically connect to the WLAN once his MAC ID is resolved.
Can we bind the user device MAC ID with the user credentials and restrict access only on the registered device?
Yes, this is possible in the “user creation” interface of the Controller.
Internet Usage Control
Can we get information regarding WAN bandwidth consumption?
We cannot provide WAN bandwidth consumption information.
Can we track user activity while logged in to the network?
We do not conduct any Firewall related activity at our Controller.
Can we restrict Internet content available to the users?
We do not do “Internet content filtering” at the Controller and recommend the same be configured at the Firewall.
Can we limit the bandwidth allocated to each user?
Yes, this is possible in the “user creation” interface of the Controller.
Can we restrict the amount of data download and upload allocated to each user?
Yes, this is possible in the “user creation” interface of the Controller.
Can we limit the time allocated to users for WLAN access?
Yes, this is possible in the “user creation” interface of the Controller.
VoIP Service
How many concurrent voice calls be made?
We have not yet tested for capacity for want of such an environment but can commit 30 concurrent calls in addition to the data load on the Controller.
What is the bandwidth consumed per voice call?
Approximately 64Kbps.
Can we have levels of administrator access to the Controller?
Yes we can offer “role based” administrator access to the Controller.
Others
Can we integrate our Active Directory server with your solution?
We support remote RADIUS server only.
Is your solution compatible with our Property Management System (PMS), i.e. Micros Fidalio, IDS, Tycoon, etc.
We have not yet integrated our solution with any PMS but have incorporated billing options in the Controller for such environments.
Will our Firewall policies apply in your WLAN solution?
Firewall policies applied to the Controller will apply to all users connecting via our Controller.
Will our VLAN configuration apply in your WLAN solution?
Yes, up to 4 VLAN’s are supported.
Can we disable the DHCP on your Controller?
We cannot disable the DHCP on our Controller.
We have multiple locations with MPLS connectivity at all locations and VPN, can we control all locations from the Head Office?
No, as of now we can manage only the site where the Controller is deployed.

Managed APs
Can we remotely manage the WLAN solution?
Yes we can remotely manage the WLAN solution.
Can we configure the Access Point from the Controller UI?
Yes we can configure the Access Point from the Controller.
As an administrator, how will I know an Access Point has shut down?
In the reporting interface of the Controller one can see off-line Access Points in red coloured text.
Are there any alerts for thresholds crossed, eg. Access Point CPU usage, number of users connected, Access Point failure, etc.
Currently there are no alerts for the mentioned points of failure, we display this information in the reporting section of the Controller and recommend periodic review of the reports interface.
If we connect Wi-Fi video surveillance cameras to the network can we view them from remote locations beyond the network?
No we can view the feed from the cameras only from within the network.
WiFi Capabilities
What is the distance that can be covered with your Access Points?
We can cover from a few meters up to 500 meters depending on the antenna configuration.
What bandwidth can we expect from your Access Points?
Approx. 40 Mbps
Can we connect two buildings using your Wi-Fi Access Points?
Yes we can, however those are point to point solutions. We provide complete wireless LAN solutions.
Can we get 300 Mbps speed of Internet access?
300 Mbps is the speed test done in lab conditions and real life environments differ completely. This transfer rate is yet to be achieved in practical scenarios.
What frequency does your solution work on?
Our Access Points use 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz frequencies.
Can your Access Points support 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz clients, concurrently?
Our Access Points support any one frequency at a time.
If a laptop supporting both bands connects to your dual band Access Point will it connect on 5.8Ghz or 2.4Ghz?
If other devices are connected to the Access Point on 2.4Ghz then the new device will connect at 2.4Ghz; else it can be configured to connect at either frequency.
WiFi Users and Security
How many users can connect to an Access Point?
We have tested up to 60 users on Access Point, however we commit 40 users per Access Point.
Can we control the number of users that can connect to an Access Point?
As of now we do not have a mechanism to restrict the number of concurrent user connections per Access Point, but it is part of a future product upgrade.
If an Access Point has reached threshold of concurrent user connections can every additional attempt by user to connect get redirected to the nearest Access Point?
We do not have a redirect mechanism currently and the process will be manual intervention of the system administrator who (after seeing the number of concurrent users in the reports interface) will advise the user to connect to a neighbouring Access Point.
How secure is your wireless solution?
Our Controller incorporates enterprise class security with a RADIUS server. Users may connect to the wireless Access Point but will be served a “Splash Page” requesting their user ID & Password which should be part of the database on the Controller.
What level of security is available on the Access Point?
We can activate WPA2 PSK on the Access Point in addition to the RADIUS server authentication.
